LOUD, HARD, MAGICAL – THE SOUND OF FINLAND

A film by Ulrike Neubecker and Wilma Pradetto

To mark the 100th anniversary of Finnish independence, the film goes on a road trip with the most unusual, most talented and most original Finnish musicians. We make the journey with Lauri Porra, the great-grandson of the Finnish composer Sibelius, through a landscape of lakes and birch tree forests. With the metal cellists of the Apocalyptica quartet, Lauri Porra creates his own version of Sibelius’ ‘Finlandia’ – the best-known musical work from Finland.
